A Message from Pastor Aaron

March 18, 2020 to April 5, 2020

All Day

March 18, 2020

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Ps. 46:1)

Dear Oikos,

Worship, Daily Devotions, Missional Communities and all activities at Oikos are SUSPENDED until further notice. In accordance with the guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for large events and mass gatherings, their recommendation is that for the next few weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 10 people or more throughout the United States. And in consideration of our duty to love our neighbors according to the Fifth Commandment and in respect to our local and national government authorities with the Fourth Commandment, Oikos will suspend all public gatherings for worship and activities until further notice beginning this Sunday, March 22. We are blessed in that Oikos will hold an Online only service that will be streamed at 10:00am on Sunday. Our sermon this weekend continues from Jonah, Chapter 3 on “Our God Saves,” and given the current level of angst in our world, we can’t imagine a more appropriate subject to hear what God says in scripture. We turn to Him in prayer and in hope because nothing less will do. Please know we, the leaders of Oikos, have not made this decision apart from an abundance of prayerful pondering, conversations with others and directives from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. We do this not in fear, panic or an overreaction but we do this in concern for the health and safety of our Oikos, visitors and friends due to the recent developments regard the coronavirus. We want to be part of that solution to help our people and bless our community and to try and walk through this together in the best way possible. We want to operate out of the abundance of caution and put the health and safety of you and Oikos first. Some of you are already familiar with online worship at Oikos. For others, this will be your first experience. It’s easy to find us. On your personal computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone, go to and click: at the top of the page “Life Together," then “Sunday Worship Gathering” and then “Worship Online.” Please note we will take this week-by-week, and we will keep you posted of any changes. No matter what happens, we will be here for you as a church. When it’s not possible for you to get to church, we’ll bring the church to you. Though we may be distant, we stay spiritually connected and our online church experience will create the vehicle for that. Our hearts hurt for those who are sick, and those who are scared. The coronavirus is a global pandemic unlike anything our world has seen for generations. As a result, there’s no small amount of concern. This current darkness is real. But so is the light! Let’s not forget that we worship a God who is a healer, a life-giver and a champion over all enemies. And our God will see us through. Keep praying. Keep helping. Keep loving. And keep the faith. See you at Oikos Online this weekend! On the journey, Pasto Aao
