May 1, 2016 Preacher: Aaron Lytle Series: I Am Jesus

Topic: Invitation & Challenge Verse: Mark 7

Push Through
Mark 7

24Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre. He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it a secret. —Mark 7:24

35Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” —Mark 3:35

25Right away a woman who had heard about him came and fell at his feet. Her little girl was possessed by an evil spirit, 26and she begged him to cast out the demon from her daughter. —Mark 7:25-26

INVITATION & CHALLENGE

Since she was a Gentile, born in Syrian Phoenicia, 27Jesus told her, “First I should feed the children—my own family, the Jews. It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.” —Mark 7:26-27

8God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. —Ephesians 2:8-10

28She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children’s plates.”
29“Good answer!” he said. “Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter.” 30And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone. —Mark 7:28-30

What area of your life are you desperate for Jesus to bring the Kingdom of God into the center of it?

How can Jesus become the center of whatever He is inviting you into as you face the challenges that come with the invitation?
