What to Expect

We are a community of families on mission who come together every Sunday morning to worship Jesus Christ and to celebrate all that the Lord has done for us, in us, and through us throughout the week.

SUNDAYMORNINGAPRIL2014_wg_polaroid_mockupWORSHIP TIME: 10am

We recently acquired our very first campus on Houston's Northside in Lindale at 522 Lindale St, 77022. See Directions for more details.

When you walk in to Oikos, feel free to grab a cup of coffee and a pastry and make yourself at home at Holy Grounds before the gathering begins. (We are thankful for Three Brothers Bakery on Washington Ave. who graciously donate bread and pastries every Sunday).

The people you will encounter are all different; we have all generations, different types of family units, singles, married folks, and people of different races and ages. We value relationships and community, so you will most likely meet some new people when you join us.

We value worshiping together as families, so we find it beneficial for your kids to worship with you. We also have Covenant & Kingdom (C&K) Kids during the message, which is an opportunity during the worship gathering for kids in PreK - 3rd grade to participate in an interactive and age-appropriate discipleship experience led by Sara Lytle and her team.

Our style of worship is modern (contemporary). The music is led by a band of local Houston musicians; guitarists, drummers, bassists, keys/hammond organ players, percussionists, and banjo players. Jason Phelps is our worship leader, along with his wife Ashley; they both strive to help everyone experience Jesus through the music, teach Biblical truths via song, lead us in confession and prayer, and to create a soundtrack for your worship experience.

Our atmosphere is relaxed, down to earth, and casual. Come as you are, but expect to leave transformed.
