Lenten Daily Devotional: Kindra LeFevre

Lenten Daily Family Devotions

Prayer for the Day:
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:8
The Lie: I’ve been fighting depression and winning, but only with God’s help. I’m approaching the one-year anniversary of my diagnosis and my last hospital-ordered counseling appointment. However, I recently slipped into a depressive episode after not experiencing one for quite some time. I feared that I would never be able to defeat depression and would be swallowed up into the dark place in which I used to live—becoming a burden to my husband. But that’s simply not true. It’s the devil’s lies creeping in at a vulnerable time. God reminded me that the way He made me wasn’t an accident. He has a purpose for me, in spite of my flaws. “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 Prayer: Dear God, please forgive me for the times that I don’t trust you and rely on myself. Thank you for transforming my mind. I may still be flawed, but I’m blessed. Thank you for the immense joy that my family has been able to experience in the past year that we never would have been able to enjoy if depression got the best of me. Thank you for making each of us uniquely, so that we can work together for the good of your kingdom. May we see ourselves the way you see us and love others unconditionally just like you’ve demonstrated through your son. In Jesus’ name, Amen. -Kindra LeFevre
